INERELA+ Held a Virtual Training Of Trainer’s (TOT) Workshop on Life And Relationship Skills

INERELA+ Secretariat hosted a Virtual Training of Trainer’s (TOT) workshop on Life and Relationship skills form the 5th to the 7th of July 2022.  The training sought to sensitize and further equip the trainers after the first TOT workshop that was held from the 26th – 28th of October 2021. The training was offered to six Country Networks that are implementing the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project namely (Sierra Leonne, Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). The aim of the training was to equip the participants with required skills to facilitate sessions, guide, and coach their peers, especially adolescent boys, and girls between ages 1 to 24.

The facilitator covered several topics that included understanding life skills, gender based violence, living and preventing HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, decision making, coping with emotions, advocacy among others. The participants indicated that the 2021 training impacted their lives positively. For example, participants from Sierra Leona testified that they refused to go through the female genital mutilation/cutting process after attending the training. The group of enthusiastic young people who attended the training indicated that they are ready to share the skills and knowledge acquired from the training with other young people from their respective countries.
